Two very different movement practices. over the years i’ve found that one can truly compliment the other.

Pilates uses both bodyweight and external resistance apparatus such as balls and bands, while yoga uses bodyweight and its philosophy goes far beyond the physical practice.

About Yoga

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that dates back 5,000 plus years. It includes postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama), and meditation to promote both mental and physical well-being so that we can live better in the world.

We explore movement possibilities as though our mat is a container - working intuitively to fit the postures to our own unique bodies. Through these steady postures and steady breaths we can find the liberation of total focus!

About Pilates

Pilates is an incredibly accessible way to improve strength in core muscles for better postural alignment, balance and flexibility. This is all pulled together with an emphasis on breathing for efficiency which is where the allusive mind/body connection takes place!

We work on a mat - standing, sitting, on our backs, on our fronts and all fours, and if certain positions or exercises are unachievable to the individual then options are given to suit your body - meaning that we are always working with the individual in front of us.
